The Ultimate Fighter Finale on FS1 Saturday drew 1.032 million viewers per Sports TV Ratings. The Prelims drew 887,000 viewers.
The main card aired from 10:00-1:32am on FS1 and featured Demetrious Johnson successfully defending his title against TUF 24 winner Tim Elliott. The main card drew 531,000 viewers in the adult 18-49 category per Sports TV Ratings. The prelims drew 430,000 viewers in the adult 18-49 category.
The event did slightly less than this past summer’s TUF 23 Finale which featured Joanna Jedrzejczyk versus Claudia Gadelha. The show, which aired on a Friday night drew 1.086 million total and 657,000 in the A18-49 demo. The prelims for TUF 23 drew 642,000 total and 352,000 in the A18-49 demo.
The TUF 22 Finale last December drew just 883,000 viewers with the prelims earning 294,000 viewers. The main card last year featured Frankie Edgar versus Chad Mendes.
Here’s a look at a history of TUF cards in recent history:
TUF 18 (December 2013): 1.13M viewers, Prelims 938,000
TUF 19 (July 2014): 1 million viewers, Prelims 774,000
TUF 20 (December 2014): 989,000, Prelims 719,000
TUF 21 (July 2015): 691,000, Prelims 470,000
TUF 22 (December 2015): 883,000, Prelims 809,000
TUF 21 (July 2015): 691,000, Prelims 470,000
Saturday night’s main card did a respectable rating, especially the prelims which drew the highest rating since December 2013. I am not sure whether the ratings are an indication that Demetrious Johnson is good for TV, but not on PPV but he’s done well when on FOX cards but not on PPV. Overall, good ratings for the event.

The 12th and final episode of TUF 24 drew 386,000 viewers on FS1 Wednesday night. The season drew an average live viewership of just 343,000.
In the TUF final, Tim Elliott prevailed over Hiromasa Ogikubo to become The Ultimate Fighter. While the show’s concept this season was unique, Elliott’s win was leaked months ago and TV guides listed Elliott’s name as Demetrious Johnson’s opponent before Wednesday’s episode showed the final.
This season did much worse than last fall’s TUF 22 which featured coaches Faber and McGregor. Still, last fall seemed like low ratings with an average live rating of 522,000. But, this season’s average was lower. Even the ATT v. Blackzilians TUF season (TUF 21) drew a better season average with 393,000 over the 12-episode season. I thought the TUF 24 fights were entertaining but whether it was the fact that people knew the ultimate result or that they are tired with the concept, live viewership is decreasing.

The penultimate episode of TUF 24 drew 304,000 viewers on FS1 this past Wednesday per Sports TV Ratings. It was the first time that the series scored over 300,000 viewers in 3 weeks.
The episode featured 2 semifinal fights which leads to the reveal of the winner of TUF 24 and faces Demetrious Johnson this Saturday. In the first fight of the episode, Hirmasa Ogikubo defeated Alxandre Pantoja. In the second episode Tim Elliott defeated Eric Shelton. This sets up the final between Ogikubo and Elliott.
Per Sports TV Ratings, the event drew 155,000 viewers in the adult 18-49 demo.
The ratings are down from last year’s 528,000 for TUF 22 Episode 11. The ratings are good for this season especially when you consider that the episode was on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving.

The Ultimate Fighter 24 Episode 10 drew an average viewership of 247,000 viewers on FS1 Wednesday night per Sports TV Ratings.
It was the lowest-rated episode this season. The episode drew 147,000 viewers in the adult 18-49 demo.
Eric Shelton defeated Ronaldo Candido via unanimous decision and Tim Elliott tapped Matt Schnell in the first round. Shelton and Elliott advance.
A third consecutive week with lower ratings. It is a substantial decrease from last fall’s TUF 22 Episode 10 which registered 499,000 viewers. NBA Basketball featuring the Raptors-Warriors and Grizzlies-Clippers on ESPN were the top cable sports programs on Wednesday night. We’ll see if TUF can break the streak of decreasing ratings in the last two episodes.
November 10, 2016
The Ultimate Fighter 24 episode 9 drew 252,000 viewers on FS1 Wednesday night. It’s the lowest-rated episode of the season per Sports TV Ratings.
In addition, the adult 18-49 demo was up slightly. The ratings are substantially down from TUF 22’s Episode 9 which garnered 495,000 viewers and TUF 23 which drew 409,000 viewers.
It’s the second straight week with a season low in ratings. On the bright side, the Adult 18-49 demo was up. This season is losing a lot of interest as highlighted by the ratings.
November 3, 2016
The Ultimate Fighter 24 episode 8 drew an overnight rating of 255,000 viewers on FS1 Wednesday night per Sports TV Ratings. The rating is the lowest of the season but went up against Game 7 of The World Series.
The game between the Indians and Cubs on Fox scored over 40 million viewers in overnight ratings.
TUF drew 132,000 in the A18-49 demo per Sports TV Ratings.
On the fight of the show, Aleandre Pantoja defeated Kai Kara-France via unanimous decision.
Not the best of circumstances for TUF viewing as it was coming off of a week off and then had to compete with Game 7 of The World Series with many wanting to see the Cubs win it all. The World Series was the most-watched World Series Game 7 since 1991. While we should see an uptick with the DVR ratings the layoff and baseball likely hurt the ratings.
October 13, 2016
The Ultimate Fighter 24 Episode 7 drew 439,000 viewers on FS1 Wednesday night per Sports TV Ratings. It was the second-highest ratings of the season for the show.
The episode featured the coach’s challenge which involved golfing this season. It gave a chance for the showcase TopGolf in Las Vegas.
In the fight of the show, Tim Elliott submitted Charlie Allianz with a bulldog choke.

It was the start of the NHL season but there was no MLB playoffs for TUF to compete with on Wednesday. This season’s episode improved from last year’s TUF 22 ep 7 which drew 379,000 viewers. Last season, ep 7 drew 377,000. The 439,000 viewers is second in ratings this season only to episode 3.

October 6, 2016
TUF 24 Episode 6 drew 366,000 viewers on FS1 Wednesday night per Sports TV Ratings. It’s an increase over last week’s episode.
In the fight of the show, Matt “Danger” Schnell defeated Matt Rizzo via submission.
The episode is down from last fall’s TUF 22 Ep 6 (585,000) and last spring’s TUF 23 Ep 6 (444,000).
You might remember Schnell from the MTV reality show about MMA fighters a couple years back. It was a very entertaining fight if you had a chance to watch. As for the ratings, it went up against the MLB Wild Card game featuring the San Francisco Giants and New York Mets which drew 7.4 million viewers on ESPN per Sports TV Ratings.
