Bellator 65: 163,000 viewers

April 17, 2012 by Jason Cruz 4 Comments

MMA Junkie reports that Bellator 65 ratings grabbed 163,000 viewers on MTV2.  This week’s  average is less than 64 but above the season’s average.

Bellator 64: 175,00 viewers
Bellator 63:  140,000 viewers
Bellator 62:  175,000 viewers
Bellator 61:  108,000 viewers
Bellator 60:  169,000 viewers

Payout Perspective:

Although down from the week prior, the hope is that the numbers remain consistent and boost the season’s average.  The fluctuating ratings are a concern so hopefully we see a positive trend here. As MMA Junkie points out, none of the sixth season ratings have matched the averages of the first three seasons the organization has had on MTV2.

    In terms of viewership percentage fluctuations, the changes are drastic and bizarre.

    Even if they matched prior seasons’ numbers, they’re pathetic numbers. If the Alvarez – Aoki fight doesn’t draw a lot more viewers they’re not doing well at all.

    @MV

    Its hard to pin down its ratings. There’s no real correlation b/w/ the shows and what it is opposing. On nights when you think it will do well, it does not and when you think it will get slammed in the ratings it does well.

    The ratings swings only look significant because the total numbers are so low. In absolute numbers the swings are statistically insignificant within a national sample. A difference of 30-50k viewers can be accounted for by a handful of Nielsen households watching or not watching on a given night.
