President Donald Trump attended UFC 244 at New York City’s Madison Square Garden to a mixed response depending on what your read or saw on social media.
In an Instagram post by Dana White which showed he and the president in what looks like a suite at MSG, the UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmogomedov asked about his father’s visa.
Perhaps in jest, maybe serious, Khabib’s father accompanied him to the Octagon in his September title defense against Dustin Poirier in Abu Dhabi. However, due to “visa issues,” has not been able to come to the United States to watch and/or assist coaching his son. Without getting too much into politics, President Trump is tough on immigration but we don’t know if a favor had been called in about Khabib’s father.
Nurmagomedov does not have another fight scheduled although the rumor is that he would face Tony Ferguson. Location? In all likelihood, you would think it would be in Las Vegas. Perhaps there will be strings pulled so that Mr. Nurmagomedov is allowed to come to Vegas to escort his son to the Octagon.
