Casey’s UFC 211 drug test flagged by Texas

May 26, 2017

UFC women’s strawweight fighter Cortney Case tested positive for elevated levels of testosterone in an in-competition drug screen at UFC 211 on May 13th.  The test does not mean she took a banned substance as Texas can cite a fighter for elevated T:E levels.

Per MMA Fighting, Casey had a testosterone-to-epitestosterone ration of 5.4:1.  Per Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) rules anything over a 4:1 ratio is flagged.  The report also notes that she is under suspension for three months on the American Boxing Commission database which results from a failed drug test in Texas.

Payout Perspective:

The sample from Casey will be further tested via isotope-ratio mass spectrometry to determine if the elevated levels came from testosterone.  If that is the case, Casey would be disciplined.  Again, we are left here to look at the disclosure forms prior to the fight.  Casey did not disclose any substance that might elevate her T:E levels which might have mitigated the fighting.  Since nothing was disclosed, a finding via the isotope test of testosterone would mean a suspension.

USADA has not been in contacts with TDLR regarding the test since there has not been a potential anti-doping policy violation at this time.  We once again see the potential conflicts between the promoter, its third-party administrator and commissions.  Here, Casey will likely be fined and possibly suspended by Texas.  Unless there is a banned substance, she may not be suspended at all.

“But UFC knew. Everyone knew. The people concerned knew that that was the case, but they still tried to put pressure on me to fight in July. That’s the reason why I’m coming out pu
blic today about the reason why I’m not fighting this summer.”
Dw is desperate and pathetic hahahahahaha

Tops they got no fighters and are scraping the barrel hoping they can hit the mayday jackpot with McTapper.

FF is fuming. He can’t take it knowing PBC will be out of business soon and the biggest fight of the year for boxing was supposed to be GGG-Canelo is now a retired boxer and Conor McGregor. HAHAHAHA!! Oscar the Grouch is in full on panic mode as well!!

  4. Fight Fan on May 27th, 2017 4:43 AM

D you been saying that for years and it still hasn’t happened lol. Nobody’s signed a real contract yet d so I wouldn’t count your chickens before they hatch. McTapper can’t even sell 2 million ppvs on his own. Desperate for the ufc to set up this circus match lol.

If A side Floyd and Conor do box , it will be the most viewed combat sport event and have The highest ppv of any combat sport . It will also be promoted by Mayweather ,

Rumor is that Anthony (superstar) Joshua will be on the undercard

  6. d on May 27th, 2017 6:10 AM

Only, it basically has happened- they’ve already gotten the boot from Spike- the only legit contract they even had(regardless of how small it was). You talk about debt all of the time, my God, that’s all PBC is. They don’t make money. Haha.

I’m not counting on it- I don’t even want it to go down. It’s just funny watching boxing hardcore fans and promoters self destruct fearing the fact that a boxing match with a mma fighter could be the biggest of all time. Hahaha.

Mayweather can’t sell 2m on his own either. He needs Conor.

  7. d on May 27th, 2017 6:11 AM

Marco, it will be promoted by both sides. Floyd is at the mercy of the UFC, because McGregor is under contract with them. Oh, and I can’t imagine this fight going down with the UFC conceding more money to Mayweather. They don’t operate like that.

  8. Fight Fan on May 27th, 2017 8:26 AM

Floyds made more money than anyone and holds the top ppvs. McTapper is a mouth with multiple losses who’s next stop is wwe.

  9. Fight Fan on May 27th, 2017 8:28 AM

Ufc is 4 billion in debt and is so desperate for this fight. If they didn’t need it McTapper would be fighting someone in his own sport.

Floyd did 375k ppv buys with his last fight.

Floyd hated the fact that McGregor is a bigger draw than he ever was. It was driving him crazy so he started the fight rumor and desperately has been chasing this fight down. Hahaha.

  11. Fight Fan on May 27th, 2017 10:20 AM

Bigger draw? lol d he can’t even crack 2 million buys. Floyd made 400 mil for a fight what’s the most McTapper ever made? Not even 20. Unless you got proof of the check I’ll wait lol.

  12. Fight Fan on May 27th, 2017 11:47 AM

Oh wait he made 25 against diaz lol. 1/16 of floyds biggest payday. No wonder McTapper wants that mayday payday so bad .

  13. d on May 27th, 2017 3:52 PM

Can’t even crack 2m? Mayweather did 375k against Berto. CM Punk beat that. HAHAHA!!

“Floyd made 400 mil for a fight”

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! The fight didn’t even gross that much money.

They are broke and haven’t had a big ppv all year. Man anyone catch the spence fight yesterday? Place was packed again. Huge year for boxing

  16. d on May 28th, 2017 1:53 PM

Yes, I know the sport of boxing is broke and they haven’t had a big ppv in years.

Speaking of packed- there was a mma card in Poland that did 58k in attendance, sold out show yesterday with no one I’ve ever heard of on the card. I know how you love attendance figures. Boxing wishes they could do that with no namers.

  17. Fight Fan on May 28th, 2017 3:49 PM

Boxing packed wembly with 90k d lol no MMA card ever had that many.

  18. d on May 28th, 2017 7:49 PM

Yeah and it took two of the biggest names in boxing, this fight in Poland involved a bunch of no named regional fighters. Hahaha.

  19. Fight Fan on May 28th, 2017 7:53 PM

Then how come the biggest ufc names never came close?! Lol I’ll wait

  20. Fight Fan on May 28th, 2017 8:32 PM

Ufc can’t even break 2 million buys.

  21. d on May 29th, 2017 5:33 AM

Boxing can’t break 2m without McGregor.

Conor alone, in one fight last year outdrew all of boxing in ppv. Haha.

  22. fight fan on May 29th, 2017 8:24 AM

Mctapper alone last year got tapped out lol. Dude is desperate for a payday so he has to come and box haha. Can’t stick to his own sport and break 2 mil.

  23. d on May 29th, 2017 6:22 PM

McGregor owns boxing- didn’t you see all the boxing reporters and promoters stalking him? Hahaha. He’s got Oscar the Grouch and Crusty Arum fuming because he’s the biggest draw in both sports!! HAHAHA!!

Got something to say?
