UFC 140 Prelims on ION: 808,000 viewers

December 13, 2011 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

MMA Junkie reports that the UFC Prelims on ION Television scored an average of 808,000 viewers. The two hour show was the third time the UFC’s prelims aired on ION.

The ratings rank second lowest in the history of the company’s airing of its prelim bouts prior to its PPV offering. The UFC 140 Prelims was second in ratings to UFC 125 in terms of airing on ION Television. Spike TV ran its annual Video Game Awards instead of the UFC Prelims.

Payout Perspective:

Low ratings for the prelims as the move to ION probably is the main culprit. But, as announced earlier today, Fuel TV will be the new home for the UFC Prelimsso its likely we will not see the UFC Prelims on ION again.
