UPDATE: DirecTV comment regarding Shine Fights PPV

September 9, 2010 by Jason Cruz Leave a Comment

UPDATE:  MMA Payout received an email from DirecTV this morning regarding its cancellation of carrying the Shine PPV.  A spokesman for DirecTV emailed the following:

We pulled it off the schedule given the possibility that the event may be cancelled based on the last-minute venue change. Those who may have already been charged for the event will receive a credit on their bill.

It would be interesting to have seen the number of PPV buys prior to the announcement. Obviously changing venue at the last minute played a part in DirecTV’s decision. From the perspective of DirecTV, it did not want to be in a position to issue credits to its customers or disappoint them if they were to purchase a PPV that all of a sudden did not occur.
