They are both owned by Zuffa and intersect in one weight class only. To consider them separate ORGs in my opinion is not accurate now that they have been acquired and that deals such as 2 UFC fights on Versus next year attest (part of a WEC deal). I really enjoy the WEC, but there is less _potential_ for greatness from the the WEC roster, imo. I still like watching the WEC lightweights fight, because even unranked or lower ranked fighters can put on entertaining fights, e.g., Cerrone vs. Henderson, a FOTY candidate.
