@Ed - Shields is their 185 champion, but he is not Top 10 at 185. He's Top 10 at Welterweight.

I'm not convinced that WEC is in anyway shape or form anything but the UFC. They are both owned by Zuffa and intersect in one weight class only. To consider them separate ORGs in my opinion is not accurate now that they have been acquired and that deals such as 2 UFC fights on Versus next year attest (part of a WEC deal).

Personally I feel Strikeforce is headed in a direction that can really make it the solid #2, by bringing both entertaining fights with lower-caliber fighters(Cung Lee, Shamrock, Scott Smith, etc), and also bringing alot of top-10 fighters(Diaz, Mousasi, Jacare, Fedor, Dan Henderson, Overeem, Aoki, Carano, Christine Cyborg Santos), and the MANY decent fighters in-between(I'll let you see all those with talent that fall inbetween: http://strikeforce.com/forum/topic/strikeforce-roster-top-10-1209).

I really enjoy the WEC, but there is less _potential_ for greatness from the the WEC roster, imo.

Strikeforce has more than one top ten fighter per division (e.g., at 185 they have Shields and Henderson), and besides, even if they have only one as you assert, that is, in total, 5 more in the 155 and above weight classes (which are the weight classes that most people are interested in) than the WEC. Cerrone & Ratcliff headlined the WEC card, and neither is ranked in the top 25 at 155. I still like watching the WEC lightweights fight, because even unranked or lower ranked fighters can put on entertaining fights, e.g., Cerrone vs. Henderson, a FOTY candidate.

Ed, you dont watch much MMA do you?

SF has ONE top-10 guy in each division. Jesus Christ.
And none of them fought on Saturday.

Scott Smith just headlined a card, that's all you need to know.

Yes, but Strikeforce has many, many more top ranked fighters in the weight classes that most people actually care about -- 155 and above -- than the WEC, which has zero.

WEC has the majority of the top guys in the world at their weight divisions.

Strikeforce doesn't.

I like watching the best in the world fight.
