UFC With Late WWE Push

The UFC recognizes the large wrestling base for Brock Lesnar and to that end they have expended some of their advertising budget to do major ad buys at WWE.com to push the Couture vs Lesnar showdown. The marketing effort more closely resembles efforts for the Lesnar vs Herring match, which received a similar last minute ad buy. This is in contrast to the Lesnar vs Mir battle, which received a much longer lead in on both the WWE television and website. The initial efforts with the Mir fight can now be looked back at as brand building for the UFC with WWE fans, and something that can be hit with a much shorter window with subsequent Brock PPV’s.
