ProElite Revived? King of the Cage on CBS?

November 10, 2008

“My guess would be (ProElite) is not going to have to declare bankruptcy to stop (the auction),” he said. “My strongest gut feeling at this point is that King of the Cage, ProElite, and CBS will be working together next year.”

- Terry Trebilcock talking to MMAWeekly.com about the future of King of the Cage, ProElite, and MMA on CBS

That quote is the latest in a series of unexpected developments in the never ending story that is ProElite’s apparent demise. Some in the industry have been quick to dismiss this as wishful thinking on Treblicock’s part, but there could be more to his suggestion than meets the eye.

CBS/Showtime is rumored to remain interested in airing MMA in 2008, ProElite has given every indictation that it won’t go out without a fight, and King of the Cage is an excellent brand to use as the revived company’s marque name.

Trebilcock told MMAWeekly.com that ProElite, CBS, and Showtime remain in daily contact and hope to continue their relationship.
