UFC 90 Chicago On Sale

Dave Meltzer hypes the UFC 90 onsale:
UFC 90 tickets for 10/25 in Chicago at the All-State Arena go on sale to Fight Club members on Friday and to the public on Monday. Anderson Silva, Patrick Cote, Diego Sanchez and Thiago Alves, the fighters in the two main events, are being brought to Chicago for a media day

From a competitive standpoint, the card looks good. From a business standpoint, while I’m sure they will draw a strong gate due to this being the initial card in the Chicago market, the card lacks a decent PPV draw on top. We’ve detailed Anderson’s problems drawing previously, and he hasn’t been helped on this card with a weak semi-main. Anderson’s per fight salary saw a HUGE bump when he recently re-upped with the UFC, in great part to compensate for a missed mega-payday with Roy Jones Jr. He will need to see a significant improvement in his PPV numbers to justify that price tag. Anderson is getting paid like a PPV draw, now he needs to go out and bring in business like one.
