Countdown to UFC 87 Rating & Pay-per-view Projection

MMAPayout.com has learned that Countdown to UFC 87 drew 688,000 viewers last night on Spike. That is the second highest rated Countdown special of the year, trailing only Countdown to UFC 83, which drew 782,000 viewers. The number appears to be an early indicator that George St. Pierre may be in the midst of breaking out as a pay-per-view draw.
MMAPayout.com projects that UFC 87 will draw 570,000 – 630,000 buys based on a formula that compares historical trends between Countdown viewership and pay-per-view buys.
