Cage Rage TV Deal

The Fight Network is reporting that Cage Rage has reached a television deal to air Cage RAge 27.
Cage Rage has inked a new broadcast deal with controversial television station Nuts TV. The digital network has acquired the broadcast rights to the Cage Rage 27: Step Up main card on Saturday, this after the London-based promotion lost its original broadcast contract with Sky Sports last month.All indications point to Nuts TV establishing a long-term relationship with Cage Rage; the network has commissioned mixed martial arts documentaries, along with background reports and exclusive coverage from Cage Rage Contenders events — a first for the top British MMA company.
From the perspective of the TV folks they are getting destination programming, using MMA to drive viewership increases. MMA, whether it be in the States or the UK, has a devoted following that will seek out the programming wherever possible. One example stateside would be the recent subscription increases that HDNet has seen with it’s increasing slate of MMA programming. Nuts TV is carried by Freeview and Sky, which represents the vast majority of homes in the UK, but the channel has been plagued by low ratings.
